Imperfect people. That would describe me. I am blessed that people love me in spite of my shortcomings, inadequacies and flaws. I just recently said "thank you for loving me and not judging me" to someone close to me.
You see it is in my imperfection that, I leave tons of room for God to come in and take care of my broken parts.
God loves to use imperfect people. We are his handy work because he is the Potter.
Philippians 1:6 - And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
There are so many of us who can masquerade pain and disappointment with a Poker Face. This is certainly a gift that I don't have. I think that there is a time and place for emotion, however, we are not robots and God has made us to feel. So what you feel is real to you until proven otherwise. I believe that it is okay for us to express disappointment as long as we don't live in it. It also opens the door for God to do his work. This then will show others that God can set you free from this disappointment and go above and beyond the call of duty, as long as you are willing to allow him to do so.
I am an imperfect being who loves a perfect God. There is no shame in what I am saying. We are married to imperfect people, we have imperfect kids, imperfect bosses, imperfect friends, imperfect government and imperfect leaders, however, we have a PERFECT GOD.
I can go to God and say Lord I have sinned and or messed up in this area and I need you to help me in this area. So, don't be hard on yourselves all of the time when we don't get things right or that things don't go right for us.
There is a PERFECT GOD, who will turn the tables around and clean you up and your mess. Be real with yourself and remember to ask God to deal with those inconsistencies and imperfections.
Meditate on that!
