Isaiah 55:8 - "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.
Well, there is no doubt that we all have sat down and etched down the future plan for our lives. We picked out our house, the husband, the number of children, the pets, the jobs and the fabulous vacations. It is all mapped out and looks wonderful. Now, life happens and these plans have been derailed.
The house you have the picture of is now a 2-bedroom apartment. The kids are more than you expected or none at all and the pets are really 3 goldfish in a bowl. The fabulous vacations are 14 hour bus-rides down to visit the relatives. Please do not get me wrong, these are not bad at all. Just not what you planned, right?
Well, God's plans are not our plans. Luke 16:10 - "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
It could be that the reason you don't have the 3 bedroom house is because has been watching how you handle things with the 2 bedroom apartment. If we can't be trusted with the small things, how can God trust us with the big things. He knows what we can handle and he knows what things must wait.
Ever see the following commercial on television. I think this is a fun analogy on how God sought of test us to see if we are ready for what he has planned for us.
Do not be discouraged or dismayed when your plans do not work out. God has a greater plan for your life and will test you until he knows you are ready.
In the meanwhile, enjoy the journey and every gift and blessing given to you by God, treat it like Gold. This way he will know that he can trust you at the next level.
Meditate on that!
