Words For You
Stay In The Know:

Peaceful You

January 12, 2018

With the new year upon us, we must consider our ways.  What does that mean exactly?

Well, are you already saying. "I am tired" or "I am stressed", honestly it is way too early in the year for this.  We must find ways to relax and find peace.  We cannot allow the troubles of the world to distract us from our peaceful place.

I know there is the job, the kids, the groceries, the spouse, the in-laws, the parents and of course, the world as a whole.  I get it!!!  However, there is a time when all of these people and things have to be put on hold.

Yes, you need a complete "TIMEOUT."  I will say that if you are not at peace, no one around you will be at peace.

JOHN 14:27 - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

You say you don't have time, however, I will challenge you to find 5 to 15 minutes out of your day,  all it takes is 5 minutes.  Take a trip to the restroom and close the door.  Turn on the shower and turn the dial to the hot water.  Buy a small bottle of Eucalyptus or Lavender oil and pour a few drops into the hot shower.  When the room is steamy, turn off the water.  Have a seat either on the floor or on the toilet and inhale.  Breath deeply, stretch your arms and move your head from left to right.   Repeat the breathing and relax your body.  Envision a place you love and keep breathing.  You must release any and all thoughts that make you tired and allow yourself to relax.  How do you feel?

For those who have more than 15 minutes, put on your favorite music, light some candles, buy yourself some flowers, read a book, for those who enjoy a glass of wine, do that.  Pull out some stretch pants and a top and sit on  the floor and stretch your limbs while breathing slowly in and out.  Just Do It.

Please do not allow anyone to take ownership of your Peace.  If they have done so, it is because you have allowed it.

God speaks about Peace all throughout his Word, here are just a few scriptures:

Colossians 3:15 - Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

Galatians 5:22 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Hebrews 12:14 - Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

1 Peter 3:11 - They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.

The Peace of God - You Deserve it!
