Many of us walk through our lives with blinders on. We sometimes believe if we ignore some things or people that they will just go away. That is not always the case.
We must be deliberate in our walk. Did you know that there are some people who will befriend you simply to advance their own agenda. They will be kind and courteous and ask lots of questions and once they have what they need, well you know. There are people who will love you until something goes wrong. They finally get to see a side of you that is flawed and all of sudden they can't handle it. Poof..... you no longer exist and they are gone.
In the past few years I have made it a practice to walk with "Eyes Wide Open." God has shown me a great deal and has allowed me to see situations and things for what they are. He has removed the blinders and I am no longer walking into land mines planted by others. It is extremely important to ask God to show you the unknown. You would be surprised what you would learn.
With the new year right around the corner, it would be wise to enter it with "Eyes Wide Open". There are new opportunities and relationships waiting for you. Here is a question for you, when you walk down the street, are you walking with your eyes closed? Imagine walking into walls, people, trees, cars, trucks and buses. Walking with your eyes closed could be quite catastrophic depending on the circumstance.
With that said, make sure your eyes are open in 2018. Close your eyes to bad friendships, bad relationships, bad opportunities and bad decisions. Open up your eyes to new friendships and relationships. Open up your eyes to new opportunities and new decisions to be made.
December 31, 2017 at 11:59pm - countdown to the last minute of the year with your eyes closed - releasing all that has not been good for you.
At 12:00am open up your eyes and thank GOD for another year, another opportunity, for new mercies and for grace.
Say Goodbye to yesterday and say Hello to your future.
The most exciting part of this all, is that you have to do it with your "Eyes Wide Open."
Meditate on that.
