Money. A subject that can be quite sensitive depending on who you speak to. Many women are now in the workforce and making their own money. We have even graduated to the 6 an 7 figure range.
However, the more we make the more we spend. My young ladies I want to help you to recognize that one day you will be in your 40s and 50s. When we are young we have the tendency to buy everything we like. Most of what we buy when we are young is a "want" and not a "need." It is okay to have nice things as long as you are putting away some money for your future.
Some of us would prefer to wear a 350.00 pair of sunglasses, instead of buying a $50.00 pair and putting $300.00 in savings. The roll of toilet paper made to look like money demonstrates, some of our spending habits. Just like a roll of toilet paper it goes that quickly.
Times are changing and things are not like they used to be. It is super important to save money for your future. There will be a point in our lives when we will need it. Proverbs 13:11 Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.
With the number of natural disasters and things going on in this world, it is smart to store up some back up money. If we make the money we can put some aside for that "rainy day.".
Ladies, we are smart, hard-working, responsible and accountable. Start looking into ways to store away some cash. Medical emergencies, unemployment, divorce and death is real. Rainy days are inevitable they will come.
There is nothing funny about not having any money. It is stressful, disheartening and scary to be faced with such a situation. While God is providing you with the means to do it, save it and give back. You are blessed to be a blessing. Tithe, donate and give whenever you are lead to do so. When God speaks to you and asks you to bless someone, do it. It will be returned to you 100-fold.
Clothes, shoes and handbags are nice. Jewelry, cars and vacations are even nicer. Enjoy it all. However, I challenge you to have fun and have a savings account as well.
Meditate on that!
